Psoriasis and eczema are diseases that can affect anyone, no matter what age, sex or race. Psoriasis and eczema are reoccurring skin diseases that can appear at any time in a person’s lifetime. It is one of the most common skin diseases out there, and yet one of the least well known as well. People have come to learn more about the disease recently as it has been taken more seriously by health care officials.
How Does The Disease manifest?
Genetics has been put down as the main carrier of psoriasis, passed down from generation to generation. It is still unknown how the disease passes through the generations so one can never guarantee that they will or will not develop psoriasis.
Children and Psoriasis / Eczema.
Psoriasis in children basically works the same way that it does when it affects adults, in that there is a showing of red patches over areas of the skin, and dry flakes that tend to fall off of the skin. Often the disease can go unnoticed if they are mild, even if your own child has the disease, it will not always be obvious and affect their lives.
If you do notice that your child has symptoms that could be psoriasis or eczema, take them to a doctor to get a proper diagnosis and any treatments available.
If you need to reassure yourself that you can help your child live with the disease, ask your doctor any and all of the questions you can think of. Also remember however that there are many different forms of treatment available for psoriasis and eczema and so you want to make sure that you do not freak out and that you realize that there are so many different types of help that are available to you and your children here and so you really should not be worried.
Psoriasis and eczema can be a blight on your life, causing you itching and pain as well as sometimes unsightly patches of red and flaky skin, but more often than not the symptoms are minimal and your child’s life will be unaffected by the diagnosis.
